We have been meditating and studying the dharma together for over twenty years. Dharma Eye was founded by Myogen Steve Stücky, former Central Abbot of San Francisco Zen Center. Our evenings have a blend of zazen meditation, service dedicated to well-being, informal tea and visiting, and a dharma talk offering with free-flowing discussion. Please join us whenever you like. Our intention is to practice mindfulness and loving-kindness with our families,
places of work, relationships and ourselves.

We are affiliated with the Suzuki Roshi lineage of Zen and a wide range of practice sanghas including Green Gulch Farm and San Francisco Zen Center. We offer meditation and support sangha within Zen Buddhist teachings.

If you have questions about our sangha or joining our Monday evening program, please contact Christine Palmer @ palmerchristine5@gmail.com

Steve was a Kansas native and came to California in the early ‘70s
to practice at San Francisco Zen Center’s City Center location.
Steve moved to Green Gulch Farm in Muir Beach and became
Green Gulch’s first farmer and was ordained as a priest during
these years. He left SFZC to raise his family and run a successful Marin landscape business. He received dharma transmission from Sojun Mel Weitsman in 1993 and led a small living room meditation group. Steve was the guiding teacher of Dharma Eye Zen Center in San Rafael since it’s founding in 1995. In February 2007 he was installed as Co-Abbot of San Francisco Zen Center and four years later became it’s Central Abbot. He was married to Lane Olson, had three adult children, four grandchildren and four bull frogs in his Sonoma County lotus pond. Steve was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer September 2013 and died New Year’s day 2014. He was deeply respected by his students and the wider Buddhist community. He is missed.
